The Celani Family Vineyard 2009 Tenacious is a blend of 69% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Malbec. Aged 20 months in 70% new French oak barrels, this blend was neither fined nor filtered. The immediate impression of this wine is expressive aromas of black cherry, black raspberries, spicy blueberries, rhubarb pie, and creamy minerals. Subtle notes of tea-leaf box, sandalwood and marmalade compliment the aromatic landscape. In the mouth, the entry is powerful, seamless and rich: the fruit intensity is well-balanced with forward yet evolved tannins.
